Obverse description Central nickel silver field depicts a highly detailed relief of the Amu Darya false shovelnose sturgeon (Pseudoscaphirhynchus kaufmanni) in left-facing profile, rendered in a naturalistic style with finely engraved scales, fins, and riverbed stones in the lower field. A sinuous eel-like fish appears in the upper field above the sturgeon. The brass outer ring carries the Cyrillic legend ЛЖЕЛОПАТОНОС along the upper arc and the Latin scientific name Pseudoscaphirhynchus kaufmanni along the lower arc, separated by bullet points. The mintmaster's initials МВ appear in small letters at the lower right of the inner field.
