Reverse description The denomination 5 CENTS is displayed in two lines at the centre of the field, with the date below, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Flanking this central cartouche is a symmetrical ornamental wreath-like design composed of stylised foliate scrollwork with small circular bosses at the junctions, lending a decorative Victorian character to the composition. A beaded border runs along the outer edge of the coin, separated from the toothed rim by a recessed channel. The overall design is clean and well-struck, consistent with Royal Mint production standards of the period.
