| Obverse description | The post-1994 South African Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a Protea flower above a secretary bird with wings displayed, over a shield bearing two figures with raised arms, supported by ears of wheat and tusks. The Khoisan motto ǃKE Eː ǀXARRA ǁKE appears along the lower rim. The country name NINGIZIMU AFRIKA in Zulu is inscribed vertically on either side of the arms, with the date 2002 positioned at the top. The engraver's initials ALS appear in the lower exergue. |
