Reverse description The reverse depicts a naturalistic study of Nama fig (Acanthosicyos naudinianus), a wild fruit endemic to the Kgalagadi region, rendered in fine detail across the mirror-polished field. Two large rounded fruits with textured rinds are shown on a sinuous vine, accompanied by broad, veined leaves and smaller foliage with pendant flower buds, filling the composition in an elegant botanical arrangement. A decorative beaded border frames the design at the rim. The denomination 5 c and the engraver's initials CM appear in the lower left field.
