| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago occupies the central field, featuring a shield supported by two scarlet ibises with wings displayed, one to each side, standing upon a grassy mound with waves below. The shield bears a sailing ship and two hummingbirds, and is surmounted by a helmet and crest depicting a palm tree. A scroll at the base carries the national motto in the legend. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1982 appears prominently in the lower field below the arms. |
