Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted at approximately 64 years of age, wearing the Royal Diadem, a necklace, and drop earrings, as designed by Ago Aarand. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA encircles the upper portion of the coin, with the abbreviated designation D.H. appearing in the lower field. The truncation of the bust is sharply defined, consistent with the fourth effigy portrait used on Canadian coinage.
