Reverse description A centrally placed pineapple, symbol of the Bahamas, dominates the field, depicted in fine relief with detailed cross-hatched skin texture and a full crown of upswept leaves above. Flanking the base of the fruit are two symmetrical decorative scrolling foliate branches extending laterally. The date, split as 19 and 69, flanks the lower portion of the pineapple stem. The denomination legend FIVE CENTS is inscribed in two words along the upper left and upper right arcs respectively, within a continuous beaded border.
