Canadian Tire coupons are not legal tender and never were, but the Canadian Bank Note Company — the same Ottawa firm that printed federal government issues — produced them with full security printing discipline: distinct serial numbering, deliberate paper stock, and design elements borrowed from genuine currency aesthetics.
