Reverse description The reverse displays the Imperial German eagle rendered in high relief at the center of the field — a spread-winged, single-headed eagle surmounted by the Imperial crown, bearing on its breast the Hohenzollern shield quartered with the Prussian eagle, surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Black Eagle. Flanking the eagle are the large numeral '5' to the left and 'CENT' within a decorative cartouche to the right. The circular legend DEUTSCH. KIAUTSCHOU GEBIET runs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while the date 1909 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by small decorative floral sprigs. The coin is bordered by a raised rim.
