| Obverse description | The complete Armorial Ensign (coat of arms) of Sri Lanka occupies the central field, featuring the golden Lion of Lanka passant holding a sword, set within a circular roundel ringed by a decorative border of petals and geometric ornament. The roundel is supported by a traditional ceremonial vase (punkalas) flanked by petals, with a Dhamma Chakra (Wheel of the Law) positioned at the top centre and two smaller circular devices at lower left and right. The overall design is rendered in high relief against a plain flat field, with no legends appearing on this face. |
