Monaco's euro-cent coinage is struck by the Monnaie de Paris under a formal minting agreement, as the principality has no mint of its own. The 2005 issue was produced in extremely limited quantities — Monaco's circulation coinage from this period was largely sold directly to collectors rather than entering general circulation, which is why surviving examples almost universally show no wear.
