Obverse description The coat of arms of Andorra occupies the central field, depicted as a quartered shield surmounted by a mural crown with elaborate baroque cartouche scrollwork. The upper-left quarter bears the mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgell, while the upper-right displays the vertical bars of the Count of Foix. The lower quarters feature the bars of Catalonia and two cows passant representing the Viscounty of Béarn. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR in Latin. The circular legend PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2002 inscribed at the base of the field.
