Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of Andorra occupies the central field, depicting the traditional heraldic divisions: the mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgell in the first quarter, the pales of the Count of Foix in the second, the pales of Catalonia in the third, and two cows passant representing the Viscount of Béarn in the fourth. The shield is surmounted by a bishop's mitre and supported by an ornate baroque cartouche, with the Latin motto 'VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR' inscribed on a ribbon below. The curved legend 'PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA' arcs along the upper periphery, and the date '2003' appears in the lower field.
