La Puebla de Roda is a small village in the Ribagorza comarca of Huesca, Aragon — the kind of municipality that would never appear in numismatic literature were it not for the extraordinary collapse of small-denomination coinage during the Spanish Civil War. By mid-1937, the Republican zone had been drained of copper and silver by hoarding and wartime disruption, forcing hundreds of local councils to print their own emergency paper fractions. This note is one of those emissions.
Imprentas Socializadas in Graus was itself a product of the war — a collectivized print operation running under anarcho-syndicalist control, responsible for much of the local vales paper from the Ribagorza area. The Gari Montllor census documents this type as a single known variety.
