| Obverse description | Central field displays the heraldic shield of the town of Annonay, a quartered coat of arms surmounted by a mural crown with battlemented towers. The shield is flanked by decorative scrollwork supporters bearing the motto ET SEMPER on a ribbon across the upper portion of the arms, with the word CIVES appearing on each side. The issuing authority ANNONAY arcs along the upper periphery, while ARDÈCHE curves along the lower periphery, with the maker's initial J.B. appearing in the lower field. |
