Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King Norodom I facing left, with short wavy hair and a small moustache, rendered in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of mid-19th-century French colonial coinage. The engraver's signature C. WURDEN appears below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads NORODOM I ROI DU CAMBODGE, disposed along the upper periphery, with the date 1860 prominently placed in the lower field. The rim is bordered by a continuous ring of beads.
