| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of King Norodom I facing left, with short wavy hair and a small moustache, rendered in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of mid-19th-century French colonial coinage. The engraver's signature C. WURDEN appears below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads NORODOM I ROI DU CAMBODGE, disposed along the upper periphery, with the date 1860 prominently placed in the lower field. The rim is bordered by a continuous ring of beads. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicting the Royal Arms of Cambodia: a shield bearing a stylised temple tower surmounted by a radiant sun, flanked by two crossed ceremonial swords and supported by decorative foliate elements, all within a wreath-like border. The numeral 5 appears at the centre of the shield. A Khmer legend arcs around the upper portion of the field, while the French inscription CINQ CENTIMES curves along the lower periphery, each extremity marked by a raised dot. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
