Reverse description The numeral 5 and the denomination CENTIEMEN are displayed prominently against a finely hatched or closely checkered background, all contained within a raised circle. The royal legend LEOPOLD II KONING DER BELGEN (Leopold the Second, King of the Belgians) encircles the design in the outer border. A small star appears as an ornamental element within the central composition. The reverse lettering is rendered in clean upright Latin characters consistent with Belgian coinage of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
