| Obverse description | The obverse features the rampant lion of Belgium in high relief at center, depicted in heraldic style facing left with forepaws raised, set against a finely stippled background field. The engraver's name BRAEMT appears on a small cartouche or tablet at the base of the lion. The national motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE (Unity Makes Strength) curves along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, flanked by two five-pointed stars at the lower left and right. The date appears at the bottom of the coin below the stars. |
