Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Marianne, the allegorical personification of the French Republic, rendered in the Art Nouveau style characteristic of Dupuis. Her hair is loosely coiled and adorned with a laurel wreath, with naturalistic strands falling across her neck and shoulder. The curved legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE runs along the upper periphery, flanking the effigy on both sides. The portrait displays the refined, high-relief modelling typical of Dupuis's medallic work. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the bust to dominate the design.
