Obverse description Uniface obverse trial strike (épreuve) featuring a single stylized wheat ear (épi de blé) at center, rendered in fine relief against a flat field. The curved legend 'république française' arcs around the upper portion of the design in flowing cursive script, characteristic of the artistic style adopted for the New Franc series. No denomination or date appears on this obverse die trial. The design, attributed to Guilleminet and adapted by AdG, reflects the agrarian motif selected for the definitive 5 centimes coinage of the Fifth Republic.
