Reverse description A standing allegorical female figure representing Italia is depicted in classical draped robes, positioned at the prow of an ancient Roman galley. She faces right and holds an olive branch in her left hand, a symbol of peace, while her right arm is extended. To the left in the middle ground, sailing ships are visible on the sea. At lower left, a shield bearing the mint mark R (Rome) is displayed. The denomination CENT. 5 arcs along the upper left legend and the date appears at upper right. The engravers' signatures P. CANONICA M. and L. GIORGI I. are inscribed at the lower right of the design.
