Reverse description Large numeral '5' dominates the central field, rendered in bold relief, denoting the denomination. The word CENTAVOS curves along the lower portion of the field in spaced Latin lettering, flanked on either side by sprays of oak leaves and acorns that extend across the lower register. The legend MONEDA PROVISIONAL arches along the upper periphery, also in Latin characters. The overall design is plain and functional, consistent with the emergency provisional coinage produced during the Mexican Revolution.
