Reverse description The reverse features a large, bare-headed right-facing portrait bust of José de San Martín, the celebrated Argentine liberator, rendered in a bold, high-relief effigy with pronounced facial features and a civilian collar. The bust occupies the majority of the coin's field, in the larger-head variety characteristic of this issue. The curved legend JOSE DE SAN MARTIN arcs around the upper and left periphery, closely following the rim, with no additional ornamental devices in the field.
