Additional information

Guerrero's revolutionary coinage of 1915 was produced under the authority of forces loyal to Emiliano Zapata's Ejército Libertador del Sur, operating entirely outside federal mint infrastructure. With Mexico City's national mints under Constitutionalist control, Zapatista-held territory improvised its own monetary supply using locally sourced copper and rudimentary equipment — which explains the crude striking quality endemic to this type. KM#636 is known in multiple die varieties with significant differences in planchet preparation and strike depth.
