Obverse description The Guatemalan national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a resplendent quetzal bird perched atop a scroll inscribed 'LIBERTAD 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1821', flanked by two crossed rifles and two crossed swords, with laurel branches forming a wreath at the base. The circular legend 'REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA' runs along the upper periphery. The silver fineness '0.720' appears at the lower left of the exergue and the date at the lower right, separated by the base of the wreath. The design is executed in finely detailed relief against a flat field, enclosed within a beaded border.
