Obverse description The obverse is struck in the form of the Liberty Bell, with a sunburst-engraved field radiating outward from a central recessed circular medallion. Within the medallion, the right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted against a darkened field, with the engraver's initials IRB visible below the portrait. The circular legend reads REPUBLIC OF GHANA above and ELIZABETH II to the left, with the date 2023 and denomination 5 CEDIS flanking the portrait below. The upper portion of the bell-shaped flan bears the raised inscription LIBERTY BELL across the yoke area, while the lower skirt of the bell carries the fineness and weight inscription 0.5 OZ .999 SILVER.
