Reverse description The reverse displays two Chinese ideograms in regular script (kaishu) flanking the central square hole: 正 (Zheng) above and 五 (Wu) below. The character 正 denotes the mint designation (Old Yidu Mint), while 五 indicates the denomination of five cash. Both characters are cast in raised relief with clean, angular strokes, set within the standard inner and outer rim framework common to Southern Song iron cash coinage.
