Reverse description The reverse field, surrounding the central square hole, bears two Chinese characters in regular script: one character positioned above the hole and one below. The upper character reads 直 (Zhi) and the lower reads 五 (Wu), together indicating a nominal value of five cash. The remaining fields to the left and right of the square hole are blank. The raised inner and outer rims are consistent with those on the obverse, and the casting quality is typical of Southern Song provincial iron coinage.
