Obverse description Green and orange intaglio note with the bank title across the top. Left vignette shows a mountain pass scene with travelers on horseback; right vignette shows a standing figure in traditional dress. Centre guilloche surrounds the large numeral "5" over the denomination tablet. Date "La Paz, Junio 1° de 1900" runs along the lower margin with three signature lines.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red-orange on cream paper, the reverse centres on the Bolivian coat of arms within an elaborate oval guilloche border inscribed with the bank name. Flanking rosettes each contain the numeral "5". Dense lathe-work fills the entire background field.
