| Reverse description | Central design features two overlapping oval vignettes depicting scenes of Thai rural industry: on the left, a farmer wearing a traditional conical hat bending to harvest rice in a paddy field, and on the right, a woman seated at a traditional loom engaged in textile weaving. Above the vignettes, the word 'CERES' appears prominently in the upper field, flanked by the circular legend '๑๒ สิงหาคม ๒๕๒๓ ประเทศไทย 12th AUGUST 1980 THAILAND'. Below, the denomination is inscribed in both Thai script '๕ บาท' and Latin characters '5 BAHT', separated by a small floral ornament, with 'FAO' appearing at lower centre between the two denominations. |

Issued in connection with the FAO's ongoing push to document and promote global food security programs, this piece commemorates Queen Sirikit's work supporting Thai agricultural development and rural cooperatives — efforts that earned her formal recognition from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Thailand produced a number of FAO-affiliated coins across the 1970s and 1980s, most in modest quantities intended more for collector distribution than circulation.
