Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) in left-facing profile, depicted in military dress uniform with collar insignia visible at the bust truncation. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the nonagonal flan. The circular Thai-script legend arcs around the upper field, reading the king's name and reign title.

(Translation: Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX)
Reverse description Central device depicting the Phra Siam Thewathirat, the guardian deity of Thailand, represented as a tiered ceremonial crown or royal regalia set upon a pedestal, rendered in moderate relief against a plain field. To the left of the device appears the numeral '๕' (5 in Thai numerals) and to the right the word 'บาท' (Baht), flanking the central emblem. The legend 'รัฐบาลไทย' (Royal Thai Government) arcs across the upper field. A beaded border follows the inner edge of the nonagonal flan.
