| Obverse description | Orange-printed note with an elaborate white-line floral and scroll underprint filling a central rectangular vignette. The denomination "Fünf Millionen Mark" is set in large bold letterpress type at the top of the panel, below which a three-line text names the Kreiskommunalkasse and the Amts-, Gemeinde- und Sparkassen of Landkreis Bochum as the paying institutions. The issue date "Bochum, den 16. August 1923" and the authority line "Der Kreisausschuß des Landkreises Bochum" appear in the lower half, accompanied by two manuscript signatures below the titles "Landrat" and "Mitglieder"; to the left of the main panel, on the cream paper margin, a black Prussian eagle vignette is printed above the legend "Landkreis Bochum", and a green serial number is overprinted vertically. |
