| Obverse description | Typographically designed Gutschein (emergency note) on a pink-brown guilloche underprint border, with the large bold numeral '5' and denomination 'MILLIONEN MARK' in heavy letterpress type dominating the upper centre. The lower portion carries a multi-line text block in German stating the redemption conditions at the Hauptkasse of August Thyssen-Hütte, Gewerkschaft, Hamborn am Rhein, with the issue date of 1 September 1923 and expiry of 31 March 1924. Two facsimile manuscript signatures of Fritz Thyssen and Julius Thyssen appear at the foot, with a red serial number and an embossed cancellation stamp at the left margin. |
