| Obverse description | Printed entirely in red on cream paper stock, the obverse bears the issuer heading 'Stadt Frankenthal.' in Gothic blackletter script at upper left, with the denomination 'M. 5 000 000' at upper right. The central legend 'Fünf Millionen Mark' is set in large, ornate Gothic typeface, below which the date 'Frankenthal, den 3. August 1923.' is inscribed. The lower portion carries a serial number with series letter, two manuscript signatures beneath the respective authority captions 'Der Stadtrat' and 'Die Stadthauptkasse', flanking a circular official seal of the Stadtgemeinde Frankenthal bearing a lion vignette; a vertical panel of small-print legal text runs along the left margin. |
