| Obverse description | Grey-toned Notgeld issued on plain paper, with the denomination numeral '5 000 000' printed diagonally at upper left and upper right corners in bold Fraktur type. A central guilloche vignette carries a small heraldic figure at its top, beneath which the issuing authority text appears in two lines of Fraktur script followed by the large denomination legend 'Fünf Millionen Mk.' in heavy Gothic letterpress. A diagonal 'Stadt Wattenscheid' underprint runs across the face, and a red serial number is printed at the top centre. The date 'Wattenscheid, den 1.
