| Obverse description | Buff-toned notgeld printed in violet-purple on a fine guilloche underprint, with the denomination FÜNFTAUSEND MILLIONEN MARK in large bold letterpress type at centre. Two engraved architectural vignettes flank the denomination text — a Gothic half-timbered building to the left and a classical civic structure to the right — while vertical marginal inscriptions reading FÜNF MILLIARDEN run along both side borders. The series letter and serial number are printed in red at the upper left and upper right respectively, and the text block below the denomination states redemption conditions at the Stadtkasse, concluding with the issuing authority FRANKFURT A.M.
