| Obverse description | Notgeld issue printed in brown and cream tones on a dense floral underprint of stylised foliage and blossoms covering the entire face. The large-format denomination legend 'Fünf Milliarden Mark' is set in bold blackletter type at centre, beneath the header inscription 'Notgeld der Stadt Castrop' in a brown panel at top. A handwritten serial number appears at lower left alongside a circular red municipal stamp, while the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat:' and two manuscript signatures are placed at lower right, above a redemption clause in small italic script along the bottom margin. |
