| Obverse description | Black letterpress on cream paper with a bold typographic layout framed by a fine ornamental border with foliate corner elements and a dense hatched outer band bearing large denominational numerals "5" at each corner. The issuer's name arches across the upper field in a banner, below which the designation "STADT-KASSENSCHEIN" and the value "5 MILLIARDEN MARK" appear in progressively larger display type.
