| Reverse description | The reverse is printed entirely in teal on a white ground with a radiating sunburst guilloche underprint at centre. The crowned double-headed eagle coat of arms of the Republic of Serbian Krajina occupies the central field, supported by elaborate guilloche scrollwork at the base. Two large circular guilloche rosettes with concentric lathe-work occupy the left and right margins respectively, each incorporating the numeral '5000000000'. The issuing authority name 'NARODNA BANKA REPUBLIKE SRPSKE KRAJINE' is inscribed in Latin script across the top, with the denomination numeral '5000000000' at lower right, the serial number prefix at left, and the anti-counterfeiting legend at the bottom. |

The Republic of Serbian Krajina was an unrecognized Serb-held statelet carved out of Croatian territory during the Yugoslav wars, and its currency was effectively a political prop from the start. The ZIN-printed Krajina dinara was pegged informally to the Yugoslav dinar, which was itself collapsing under some of the worst hyperinflation recorded in the twentieth century — the National Bank of Yugoslavia's own monetary implosion directly infected every satellite issuer dependent on Belgrade's presses.
A five-billion-dinar denomination in 1993 bought almost nothing. The RSK ceased to exist in August 1995 when Croatian forces overran the territory in Operation Storm.
