Obverse description The obverse of this oval silver proof coin features a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, set within a beaded border. The legend ZAMBIA arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 4000 KWACHA appears in the lower field flanking the Zambian coat of arms, which depicts two figures supporting a quartered shield surmounted by an eagle. The year of issue, 2000, is divided on either side of the portrait in large numerals, lending a balanced, decorative composition to the design.
