| Obverse description | Within the field, two laurel branches are crossed and intertwined, framing the royal name IOAN V in bold capital letters at centre, with the numeral V positioned below and separated by rosette stops. A royal crown surmounts the design above the legend. The denomination numeral 400 appears at the base of the field, between the tips of the crossed branches. The whole composition is enclosed within a reeded border. |
