| Reverse description | The imperial arms of Brazil occupy the central field, comprising a rectangular shield bearing a celestial globe encircled by a ring of nineteen stars representing the provinces of the Empire, all set against a horizontally lined background. The shield is surmounted by the Imperial Crown of Brazil, rendered in fine detail with arched bands and a central orb. Flanking the shield on either side are tall sprigs of laurel and coffee branch, tied together at the base with a decorative floral knot. The Latin motto 'IN HOC SIGNO VINCES' encircles the design along the upper rim, separated by small star-shaped ornaments. |
