Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Queen Isabella II facing left, her hair elaborantly dressed and gathered at the nape with a ribbon, rendered in high relief after an engraving by Luis Marchionni Hombrón. The portrait occupies the central field, with the truncation of the bust cutting cleanly across the lower portion. The encircling legend reads ISABEL 2A. POR LA G· DE DIOS Y LA CONST, separated from the toothed border by a fine inner circle. The date 1864 appears prominently in the lower exergual area, flanked by raised dots.
