Reverse description The reverse is divided into four horizontal registers of bold Arabic calligraphy enclosed within a beaded border, bearing the full honorific title of the Ottoman Sultan. The inscription proclaims his sovereignty over two lands and two seas, and affirms his dynastic lineage as Sultan, son of the Sultan. The script is rendered in a large, formal Thuluth style filling the entire field. No additional devices or symbols are present.
