Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in the ornate Ottoman calligraphic style with characteristic looped and scrolling strokes. Below the tughra, the mint name and AH regnal year are inscribed in Arabic script. The coin is struck on a broad flan with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The overall composition is typical of provincial Ottoman hammered coinage produced at Tripoli in North Africa.

Reverse description Four lines of Arabic calligraphic inscription filling the field, recording the full Ottoman imperial titulature of Sultan Mahmud II. The legend reads 'Sultan of the Two Lands and Khan of the Two Seas, the Sultan son of the Sultan,' followed by the regnal year numeral in the lower portion of the field. The text is arranged in horizontal registers within a beaded border, consistent with the standard reverse type used on Ottoman provincial issues of this period.
