| Obverse description | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial portrait style typical of early Byzantine coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic diadem and military attire, with the cuirass visible at the shoulder. The obverse legend in Latin encircles the bust, reading D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG, identifying the emperor as Dominus Noster and Perpetual Augustus.
