Obverse description Facing bust of Emperor Heraclius, bearded and cuirassed, wearing a plumed helmet adorned with pendilia. The emperor holds a globus cruciger in his right hand, while his left shoulder bears a shield decorated with a horseman motif. The effigy is rendered in the frontal Byzantine imperial style, with the legend D N hRACLI PER AVG distributed around the bust in the field.
