Reverse description Green and dark brown reverse with two oval vignettes flanking a central text panel: the left oval contains a chamois standing on a rocky alpine outcrop, and the right oval shows a still-life arrangement of a wine bottle and glasses. The central panel carries two poetic stanzas attributed to Kobell and Goldbacher respectively, above a further couplet in dialect verse encouraging collectors to retain the note. Below, a panoramic alpine mountain silhouette underprint spans the full width above three manuscript signatures with printed titles; a legal disclaimer notice in small letterpress type runs along the very bottom edge.
Reverse lettering Der junge Tag zuerst Dir huldigt
Mit seinem Gold, mit seiner Pracht,
Des Abends letzte schönste Rose
Ist Deinen Spitzen zugedacht.
Nach Kobell.
Balsam für dö tiafst'n Wund'n:
Bergsteig'n hoaßts und Almalöbn.
Goldbacher.
Laßt uns zu des Sammlers Handen, In Sammlers Händen bleibt man rein,
Nicht von Tasch' zu Tasche wandern! Als Geldschein würd' man schmierig sein.
Admont, Steiermark, im November 1920.
H Steger
