Obverse description	Right-facing bareheaded female effigy of an African woman with elaborately braided hair gathered at the nape, wearing a small drop earring. The engraver's signature R. JOLY appears in the lower field. The circular legend reads AFRIQUE CENTRALE to the left and BANQUE D'EMISSION to the right, in raised Latin characters along the rim.
