| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Napoleon I facing right, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the nape, his hair rendered in fine flowing strands in the neoclassical style. The portrait is bold and high-relief, engraved by Jean-Pierre Droz, whose signature appears in small characters below the truncation of the neck. The circumferential legend NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. runs along the upper and right portions of the coin's periphery, between the effigy and the fine dentilated border. |
